Points Shmoints: Trusting Your Wine Gut
Tasting a wine without any preconceived notions. No knowledge of where it’s from, what price it is…or what points it might have scored from certain wine critics with massive followings. Possibly a scary proposition? Or maybe just a super exciting fun one!
Here at Domaine LA, we want to get you confident in your own palate and ability to judge a wine based solely on how much you enjoy drinking it. This can be done by sticking some wines in brown bags and tasting them blind. What does an 89 point wine taste like as compared to a 98? A $15 wine vs. a $50 wine? Can you even tell the difference? You just might realize that points are, well, pointless.
If you’re thinking, “I really want to try this blind tasting thing now”, you’re in luck! We’re having a blind tasting on Sunday!
