2006 Rafael Palacios "As Sortes" 100% Godello

We just got the 2006 vintage in stock! We love it just like we loved the '05...sadly, the price has been raised as this is no longer under the radar (05 made the Spectator Wines of the Year list) and the Euro is killing us. But this is well worth it. We like it better than almost any Burgundy white we've had -- not that the grape is the same, it's Godello, not Chardonnay...but it's similarly styled to a Chablis. Yum!

Tasting notes for '05 vintage: When we tasted this two weeks ago, we had to beg the distributor for the last 3 six-packs they had left in stock. This wine was so good, it had some nice fruit to it, almost tropical, the acidity you would expect from a cooler climate, and the smoothness of oak without becoming too nutty or buttery. It might be the first white wine we've ever had a 'love at first sight' experience with. It's really beautiful and we wish we had more in stock to offer you.
